Actually, the father did bad things too. Just that most of us profited from it by good economic growth, jobs and profits from investments. Hence, we choose to turn a blind eye. At least we can honestly say we don't know. Better than being a supporter or accomplice.
Likewise, some of us are voting this way. We knowingly turn a blind eye, or just give moral support because it benefits us, not because it is the morally right thing to do.

Profiting from the current mistakes made by PAP will increase the pain that the future generations have the suffer - High property prices, poor public transportation, inorganic (artificial) GDP growth. It's really ridiculous how the top PAP leaders endorse a policy that will result in Singaporeans making up only half the population by 2030, and they can still sell the 'strong Singaporean core' ideology.
The father built Singapore, and the son destroys it.

And what about that very significant piece in the Financial Times last week: http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/2/afbddb44-7640-11e2-8eb6-00144feabdc0.html
Has anyone seen any coverage of that story in the local press???

I voted for PAP in the past few elections. Not because I thought PAP was doing a good job. Actually, I am aware of their mismanagement. But I now have vested interests to keep things the way they are. Basically, I am voting in for a bad party because I found a way to profit from their mistakes.
And I suspect many who voted for PAP are also doing the same, or because they vote in memory for the PAP leaders of 1965 - 1990. I seriously doubt they are voting for because of the current ability and accomplishment of the current leaders, including recently retired leaders like Mah Bow Tan.

The White Paper protest definitely deserved a front-page appearance. There wasn't even a small feature article about it at the top row. This definitely confirms the pro-PAP bias of SPH media.
