$AAPL the stock that could do no wrong

Apple is a great company. Every one knows their product. Every investor knows how sticky consumers are to their products.

They are not so much a software company but a holistic services and hardware company that leverages on a vastly underrated supply chain that rivals could not beat. Low cost producer, big brand, high quality perishable products.

And they are currently having a bit of a confusion when their Software Head for IOS Scott Forstall left.

This is a weekly chart with a 17,43,50 EMA set up. Notice how strong the trend is. The past 3 years you will find it hard to get below the 43 week EMA.

The Evil Speculator have a profile on point and figure chart on AAPL.  It would seem that current price is strong support. For punters it’s a good area to get invested. Of course, do be aware what happens when that support is breached.

Hi Drizzt

I dropped you a note regarding "parse errors" on my spreadsheet. Just wondering if you had the answer for me.

Be careful. Apple is no longer the clear innovator it once was. It is now the most common everyday phone and tablet that everyone including the older generation uses - this makes it lose its "cool" factor (eg. kids are going to Blackberry instead but unfortunately, Blackberry is not capitalising on this). Also, in terms of usage, there is also a swing towards large screen phones (eg. Samsung Note and S3) - if you have any friend (esp. ladies) who have used these, ask if they want to switch back to iPhone. Most will say no. Apple can lose a large % of its customers this year - ie. those due to upgrade phones this year when their contract is up and have to choose between iPhone5 vs large screen phones. Once lost, hard to get these customers back.

hi jeff, i agree and differ on this. while what you all explain are sync with my early conclusions, i do see a lot of brand loyalty in the consumers with the popular Mac and iPhone. My views are, phones are special in the sense that everyone needs one. It will be hard to come up with another product that have this reach. Ultimately, their share can fall, but they would have to maintain the focus on usability and quality, which is coming with each apple products.

i remember Sony have always been known for premium but good quality TV, but that can change for alot of different reasons.
